And Jessica Gets Minor Surgery at a Walk In clinic

I've had an infected ingrown nail for over a week (gross, I know) so when my Mom came to visit she took me to a walk in clinic.... and so it begins. A young nurse-man came in to get some information and take a look at my toe. He brought two little machines in with him. I could see that one was an ear thermometer but I wasn't' sure what the other was so wen he tried to stick it on my finger I blurted out "is this going to poke me?" (because in my eyes every doctor looks like Edward Needle-Hands trying to stick me with needles) and then he looked at me and laughed saying "no". When the nurse practitioner came in she informed me that shed have to remove some things and drain the toe... etc. and that shed have to numb the area... aka needles. aka HELL NO. She tells me that it will involve 4-6 shots and that I will feel them so... I go pale and require oxygen and anti-anxiety meds.
Those 4 shots hurt worse then any shots I've ever gotten in my arms (later the nurse told me that shots hurt worse in feet and I was VERY glad she didn't say that before I got them) and the pressure of the numbing meds in my toe made it even worse. I was all but screaming the whole time and holding onto my Mom's hand like I was going thru labour. I came close to fainting but didn't (I think Mom was proud) and after the shots I didn't feel anything else and was fine.
